

Head2Head Route
The Head2Head Route will be setting off from Mizen Head Co.Cork. The runners will be tackling the Cork Hills in their freshest state and will be heading North.
The route is 555km and goes through 10 counties and across a country border twice before reaching Malin Head Co. Donegal

The aim is to run between 51-68km depending on the day for 9 days. The runners will be supported along the route by the best crew who will take care of their nutrition and all logistics.

Day 6 August 22nd Mount Temple Co.West Meath to Cloone Co.Leitrim
Distance: 63.6km

The runners will drive back to Mount Temple after their night in Athlone to start day 5. Day 5 boasts the flattest day for the runners with a elevation gain of 177m and 63.6km distance. Day 5 will take the runners from West Meath through Co. Longford to Co.Leitrim. Day 5 will pass through Walderstown, Tang, Longford Town, and Drumlish before finishing in Cloonee.
Day 7 August 23rd Cloone Co.Leitrim to Ballinamallard, Enniskillen Co. Fermanagh

The runners will drive back to Cloone after their night in Mohill to start day 6. Day 6 is a relatively flat day and is 59.4km. Day 6 will see the runners start in Co.Leitrim before passing through Co.Caven and cross the border into Co.Fermanagh Northern Ireland. This will be the shortest day the runners have ran and will be the second shortest in Head2Head overall.
Day 8 August 24th Ballinamallard, Enniskillen Co. Fermanagh to New Buildings Co.Derry/Londonderry

Elevation Lost: 427m

The runners will start day 7 in Ballinamallard on the outskirts of Enniskillen. Day 7 is 68.1km taking the runners through Drumquin and Strabane before reaching Newbuildings in Derry/Londonderry. This will be a longest but most rewarding day for the runners
Day 9 August 25th New Buildings Co.Derry/Londonderry to Malin Head Co.Donegal
Distance: 56.6km
Elevation Gained: 460m
Elevation Lost: 411m
The runners will start the final day in Newbuildings Derry/Londonderry and run the shortest leg of Head2Head 56.6km to the finish at Malin Head in Donegal. Day 8 will be tough as the runners will be extremely fatigued and will have to tackle the rolling hills of Donegal to reach Malin Head with a elevation of 460m to the finish line.
